About Sarah

Hello and welcome to my website.

I live in Cambridge with my husband, our two children, and a cat with attitude called Freddie.

My hobbies include growing vegetables (especially the green, stringy ones) and walking by the sea (especially in the winter when the sun is shining and the wind is blowing).

I was initially trained as a jewellery designer and this has created an original graphic language in my illustrations. Drawing, however, has always been my first love and I have recently completed an MA in Children’s Book Illustration at Anglia Ruskin in Cambridge.

The materials I use include pencil, oil crayon, acrylic paint, ink and collage, But I also like making drawings, using glue and thread, which have a three dimensional quality.

In my illustrations I try to inspire children to be curious and to look afresh at the familiar world around them.
